Project Description

Patience Simms

LPC Intern

One of the highest priorities to me as the therapist is to create an environment where change can happen. My favorite clients are those that come to me as a last-chance situation- nothing else has worked and you’re ready to give up. If you keep working, I will fight for you. There will be days you can no longer fight that I can hold that space for you. Whether I am working with a child with Autism, a couple trying to stay married or considering divorce or an adolescent struggling with self harm or thoughts of harming others, I believe clients can surpass coping and actually THRIVE.
I am a family therapist at heart and love seeing couples and families. I additionally see adults, adolescents and children individually and approach counseling from a systems-based, attachment-based and trauma informed approach. My areas of specialty include trauma, adoption and high conflict families/ couples.
I want you to find the best therapist to serve your specific needs. If that isn’t me, I’m committed to helping you find that person. Specialized trainings/ certifications include: NeuroRelational Play Therapy, Gottman Level 1 and 2, parent-child psychotherapy.
